WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING GUTTER?
Rain gutters aid in several ways: prevent or stop the continuation of damage to your landscaping; prevent or reduce erosion beneath or around your home’s foundation; and keep the area around your home dry, which aids in keeping away mold and destructive pests, such as termites.
DO I NEED 5”, 6”, OR 7” RAIN GUTTER?
5” rain gutter works well on many of the homes in our local communities. However, different scenarios require a 6” or larger gutter. Roof size, roof design, and distance between downspouts is the main way to determine the necessary size for your system.
HOW MANY DOWNSPOUTS DO I NEED?
A typical one-story home needs only 5 downspouts. A quick estimation is one downspout for every 45-50 feet of rain gutter.
WHAT MATERIAL THICKNESS DO YOU OFFER?
.027 & .032ga in aluminum. Up to .040ga in Box gutter. 16 & 20 oz in copper.
HOW LONG SHOULD MY GUTTER SYSTEM LAST?
A well-maintained aluminum rain gutter system has an average expected life of 20-25 years. Copper has an expected life of 150+ years.
HOW DO YOU SECURE THE GUTTER SYSTEM?
Internal hangers w/2-inch zinc screws and neoprene washers, spaced every 2 feet. Stainless steel screws are utilized anywhere where screws are exposed. This prevents the chance of the nasty rust stains on your gutter system.
WILL MY GUTTERS HANDLE ANY RAIN VOLUME?
Most systems are designed to handle rainfall totals of up to 1” per hour before being declared “overpowered”. A larger 7” gutter or 6” gutter, plus increasing the number of downspouts will increase the volume the system can handle.
CAN YOU MATCH THE COLOR OF MY HOME?
In most cases, yes. We have access to 32 different colors. Unique home colors can’t be matched, but we can use an accenting color to bring it together.
HOW LONG DOES AN INSTALLATION TAKE?
Most installations take 3-4 hours.
DO I NEED TO BE HOME FOR THE INSTALLATION?
As long as our installers have unimpeded access to the perimeter of the home they can complete everything while you are away.
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?
We 100% believe the best practice is offering our best price, upfront, to every customer.
WILL YOU MATCH A COMPETING ESTIMATE?
Installation products & techniques vary so greatly between companies that it’s impossible to fairly match a competing offer.
WHICH FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept payments in cash, personal check, money order, bank bill pay and credit or debit card transactions. The use of credit and/or debit cards will incur a 4% surcharge which is added to the invoiced job total.
WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?
Payments are due within 10 days after the installation. No money is due upfront unless otherwise stated.
DO I NEED A LEAF GUARD SYSTEM?
A few things help with this determination: if you have trees; the trees are taller than your home and within 100 feet of the roofline; your downspouts drain underground and you have trees; your home is 2-stories and you have trees.
IF I HAVE LEAF GUARDS, DO I EVER NEED TO CLEAN MY GUTTER AGAIN?
Yes. Even with leaf guards, there will be some minor maintenance needed from time-to-time. You may have heard “you never need to clean your gutters again”. This is a good selling point, but is simply not true. The maintenance is minor, but necessary.
WHAT ARE THE BLACK STREAKS ON MY GUTTER?
The term is “Tiger Striping”. This forms when pollen, dust, or other pollutants attach to droplets of water that roll down the face of the gutter. Over a longer period, it becomes black and unsightly.
HOW CAN I GET RID OF TIGER STRIPING?
Once or twice per year you can wash the exterior of your system with one of the following:
- 50/50 mix of water and Dawn
- 50/50 mix of water and a non-abrasive cleaner with cloth
